U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner had planned to visit Moscow and Kyiv on September 5–6, but are now considering an alternative schedule, the Kyiv Independent reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

According to the source, Russia does not want the U.S. representatives to travel to the Ukrainian capital, while Witkoff is taking heed of Moscow’s warnings about the alleged dangers of such a visit.

The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Witkoff and Kushner had confirmed their readiness to visit Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia has been attacking Kyiv with drones for several consecutive days.
