A service dog helped border guards from the Chop detachment detect a man attempting to enter Ukraine covertly across the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The detainee was identified as a 24-year-old native of Chechnya. According to him, he was forcibly conscripted into the Russian army but later deserted and fled to Europe using forged documents.
The man attempted to enter Ukraine outside an official border crossing without carrying any documents. He is now expected to be handed over to Slovak law enforcement authorities under the readmission procedure.
