Zelenskyy discusses energy security and air defense with Iceland’s foreign minister

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir while traveling to Canada.

The talks focused on Ukraine’s preparations for the upcoming winter, protecting the country’s energy infrastructure, and strengthening its air defense capabilities.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine expects to continue its cooperation with Iceland, including further contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. According to the president, assistance previously provided by Iceland is already delivering tangible results.

The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in the technology and defense sectors. Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is ready to share the experience it has gained with its international partners.

The Ukrainian president thanked Iceland for its continued support.
