Mykhailo Fedorov has confirmed that he is stepping down as Ukraine’s Minister of Defense. Fedorov said it had been a great honor to lead the Ministry of Defense and highlighted the key achievements of his team during his tenure.
According to him, Ukraine succeeded in cutting off Russian forces’ access to Starlink, significantly reducing their capabilities in drone warfare, dramatically increasing drone procurement, launching the “Logistics Lockdown” program to disrupt Russian supply lines, and beginning the isolation of occupied Crimea.

Fedorov also said that Ukraine signed its first contract for Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T missiles, submitted a request to procure PAC-3 missiles, successfully tested a Ukrainian ballistic missile, and signed a contract to purchase Gripen fighter jets.
He also highlighted the reform of defense procurement, the launch of a grant program for missile and explosives manufacturers, the creation of the Defense AI Center A1, and the holding of three Ramstein-format meetings, after which Ukraine’s partners announced $40 billion in support for the country this year.
According to several Ukrainian media outlets, citing members of parliament, Ihor Klymenko is expected to replace Fedorov as defense minister.
