Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Donald Trump’s representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, in central Kyiv.

The US delegation arrived in Kyiv by train. According to Zelensky, the Russian side did not allow the negotiators to travel by air, although Ukrainian airports were ready to receive them.

The US officials were welcomed at the railway station by members of Ukraine’s negotiating team: Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, Foreign Intelligence Service chief Rustem Umerov, and Davyd Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.

In Kyiv, journalists asked Witkoff whether Vladimir Putin was prepared to agree to a ceasefire, but the US envoy did not answer.

Before travelling to Ukraine, Witkoff and Kushner visited Moscow, where they held talks with Putin for more than three hours. The parties did not announce any concrete results following the meeting at the Kremlin. During their talks with Zelensky, the US envoys are expected to present Moscow’s position and discuss possible next diplomatic steps.
