Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ranked 21st on The Jerusalem Post’s annual list of the world’s 50 most influential Jews.
The publication highlighted Zelenskyy’s leadership of Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale war and described him as one of the symbols of Ukrainian resistance. It also noted the president’s Jewish heritage and the history of his family, which suffered at the hands of the Nazis during World War II.
The Jerusalem Post recalled that Vladimir Putin has repeatedly attempted to portray the Ukrainian government as a “Nazi regime,” despite Zelenskyy’s Jewish background.
US presidential envoy Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump topped the ranking, followed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in second place.
The top 10 also included IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, philanthropist Ronald Lauder, billionaire Miriam Adelson, Wiz co-founder Assaf Rappaport, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Sam Altman and Mark Zuckerberg. Journalist Bari Weiss ranked tenth.
This is not Zelenskyy’s first appearance on The Jerusalem Post’s list. In 2022, following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he topped the ranking as a global symbol of resistance. The Ukrainian president returned to the top 10 in 2024.
