Ukraine carried out new long-range strikes on targets inside Russia overnight, including in the Moscow region. President Volodymyr Zelensky said one of Russia’s key oil industry facilities and a site linked to Russian logistics had been hit.
According to Zelensky, the attack was part of Ukraine’s campaign of long-range strikes against facilities that provide Russia with resources to continue its war. He stressed that Russia’s oil industry generates billions of dollars in revenue that helps sustain the country’s war machine.
“Our long-range responses were felt very significantly in the Moscow region last night. One of the key enterprises of Russia’s oil industry and an aggressor logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that support the war machine,” Zelensky said.
He also named several Ukrainian long-range systems used in the operation: FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palyanytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen and Pelican.
According to the president, several Ukrainian agencies and military units were involved in the operation, including the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) and the Foreign Intelligence Service.
Zelensky separately reported that “sanctions were applied” to an industrial facility in Russia’s Voronezh region — wording Ukrainian officials sometimes use to refer to strikes on Russian targets.
The president linked Ukraine’s continued long-range operations to Moscow’s refusal to end the war.
“Moscow should not be building layered air defense rings at the expense of other regions. It should end its brutal war and choose peace,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, he said Ukraine remains ready for steps toward de-escalation. According to Zelensky, proposals concerning energy and food security are already on the table, but implementing them requires political will.
Zelensky also thanked those supporting Ukraine’s long-range capabilities and partners complementing military pressure with sanctions against Russia.
