Vladimir Putin has begun a meeting at the Kremlin with US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. At the start of the talks, Putin welcomed the American delegation and acknowledged that the discussions were taking place under difficult circumstances.
Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov and special envoy Kirill Dmitriev are also participating on the Russian side.
Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Moscow with US proposals aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. Following the Kremlin talks, the US president’s representatives are expected to travel to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian officials and discuss the outcome of their meeting with the Russian side.
