A Russian attack drone struck the building of the We Are Ukraine TV channel in broad daylight. The channel is part of Ukraine’s United News telethon. Journalists were live on air when the attack occurred.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the building was partially destroyed. Firefighters have extinguished the blaze, while emergency services continue working at the scene. Five people are currently known to have been injured, although the number of casualties may rise.

The president described the use of Shahed drones against the media as a new low in Russia’s degradation and urged Europe and the international community to respond. He stressed that no attack on Ukraine should go unpunished and that Russia can only be stopped through the joint efforts of international partners.

Earlier, on the night of September 8, Russia launched a massive combined attack on Kyiv using missiles and drones. Residential buildings and other civilian facilities were damaged across the capital. At least two people were killed and ten others injured, while rescuers pulled 13 people to safety.
