US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claiming that the Ukrainian leader had repeatedly missed opportunities to end the war with Russia.

โ€œZelenskyy could have ended this war many, many times. But he doesn’t do it,โ€ Trump declared.

The American president also criticized Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, accusing Zelenskyy of creating problems for the global economy.

โ€œZelenskyy wants to create problems for the whole world. He wants to create problems for our farmers by striking Russian oil refineries,โ€ the White House leader stated.

Trump also openly called for a change in Ukraine’s leadership.

โ€œI think it’s time for Ukraine to elect a new president. I suggest that Ukraine get a new leader who can make a deal. For some reason, Zelenskyy never makes deals,โ€ the US president declared.

Trump’s unusually harsh remarks may have been prompted by Zelenskyy’s recent criticism of the American president. The Ukrainian leader condemned Washington’s decision to ease sanctions on Russian diesel fuel following Trump’s agreement with Vladimir Putin.

Zelenskyy described the decision as weak and warned that allowing Russia to sell petroleum products would effectively provide additional funding for Moscow’s war against Ukraine.

โ€œRussia will โ€˜repayโ€™ the diesel deal with more terror and dirty tricks. Allowing Russia to sell petroleum products is an investment in a war that needs to be ended, not prolonged,โ€ Zelenskyy emphasized.

However, there is currently no direct confirmation that Zelenskyy’s criticism was the reason behind Trump’s latest statements.
