Ukraine will continue its military operations for as long as necessary to defend the country and achieve an acceptable outcome, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov said during an appearance on a Latvian television channel.
“Ukraine will continue fighting for as long as necessary,” Budanov stated.
He stressed that Kyiv remains interested in ending the war but will not abandon its efforts to protect the country while Russia continues its aggression. According to Budanov, Ukraine’s future actions will depend not on specific deadlines but on whether the desired result is achieved.
His remarks come as diplomatic efforts to end the war continue. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly emphasized that any agreement must provide a lasting and reliable peace rather than merely a temporary pause that Russia could use to prepare for renewed aggression.
Budanov said Ukraine would therefore continue defending itself and applying pressure on Russia until conditions for a sustainable end to the war are created.
