US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are traveling to Moscow with an American proposal aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. Donald Trump announced the upcoming mission.
The White House representatives are expected to meet Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on September 5. Following the talks in Russia, they are due to visit Kyiv to brief the Ukrainian side on the outcome of the meeting and discuss the next diplomatic steps.
This will be Witkoff and Kushner’s first joint official visit to Ukraine during the current round of peace consultations. Ukrainian officials have consistently stressed that no agreement on ending the war can be reached without Kyiv’s participation.
