Zelensky calls Russians terrorists over strikes on civilian targets

Russia launched overnight strikes on Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine on September 29, damaging residential buildings, energy infrastructure and civilian facilities, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

โ€œJust terrorists who strike at life, at our people, at purely civilian targets day and night,โ€ Zelensky said.

In Kyiv, the attack damaged a depot at the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway station, data and business centers, and residential buildings. In the Odesa region, an educational institution, a dormitory and two foreign vessels were damaged.

The Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Volyn and Rivne regions also came under attack. According to the president, energy facilities, substations, civilian businesses and residential buildings were damaged.

Zelensky said Ukrainian air defenses intercepted a number of targets overnight, including ballistic missiles.

The president also thanked Ukraineโ€™s partners for strengthening the countryโ€™s air defenses. The United States and Norway provided Ukraine with a NASAMS system and a package of missiles for it, while France and Germany supplied additional missiles for Ukrainian air defense systems.

Amid continued Russian attacks, Zelensky stressed the need for a steady supply of additional air defense packages to Ukraine.
