President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Ukraine’s negotiating team to review the results of the previous day’s talks in Kyiv with US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The US delegation arrived in the Ukrainian capital after more than three hours of talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. During the meeting in Kyiv, the US representatives presented the Ukrainian side with new proposals and ideas developed following their discussions at the Kremlin.
Three rounds of talks were held in total. Some of the consultations included representatives of the E3 countries — France, the United Kingdom and Germany. Zelensky also held a separate one-on-one conversation with Witkoff and Kushner.
The parties discussed potential next diplomatic steps, the prospect of resuming trilateral talks, Ukraine’s air defense needs, technological cooperation and a winter support package.
“The most important thing is to continue working actively and jointly to ensure that diplomacy moves forward,” Zelensky emphasized.
According to the president, Ukraine’s partners understand which measures could strengthen the country’s defenses and must be implemented before winter.
“Our partners know what can work and what must work before winter,” he said.
The parties are now coordinating their next steps and preparing for further meetings and communication. Zelensky stressed that Kyiv would continue to demonstrate its readiness for substantive diplomatic engagement.
“Ukraine’s proposals are constructive, and they always will be,” the president concluded.
