Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that the United States could help Ukraine establish air superiority, which he believes could force Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
“I spoke frankly: give us, help us protect our skies and dominate them, and then Putin will sit down at the negotiating table,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to the president, strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and gaining air superiority could not only protect cities from Russian attacks but also shift the balance of power in the war, putting additional pressure on the Kremlin.
Zelenskyy also highlighted technological cooperation between China and Russia. He stated that Beijing is moving closer to developing its own equivalent of the Starlink satellite system and is transferring related technologies to Moscow.
The Ukrainian president believes the problem is not a lack of necessary technology among Western partners, but rather their insufficient willingness to use existing capabilities to help Ukraine.
In Zelenskyy’s view, strengthening Ukraine’s military capabilities could create the conditions for meaningful negotiations to end the war.
