President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska have arrived in Canada for talks on further support for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The talks will focus on strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s airspace, preparing for winter, supporting the population and bolstering the country’s resilience. The two sides are also expected to reach agreements that will reinforce the strategic nature of Ukrainian-Canadian relations for years to come.
The first lady’s schedule includes a meeting with Canadian philanthropists who support Ukraine, as well as visits to institutions similar to Ukraine’s Schools of Superheroes.
Before arriving in Canada, Zelenskyy visited Norway, where he held talks with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and representatives of defense companies. The parties discussed strengthening air defenses and creating an anti-ballistic shield over Europe.
The Ukrainian president also met with Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir. Their discussions focused on protecting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, preparing for winter, contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, and cooperation in the defense and technology sectors.
