Following their joint press conference in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by the hand — a gesture reminiscent of a boxing referee declaring the winner after a fight.
Symbolically, shortly before the moment, Erdogan had declared: “A just peace has no losers.” The moment was captured on video.
Later, Zelenskyy revealed that Erdogan had expressed his willingness to host a trilateral meeting between the leaders of Ukraine, the United States and Russia in Turkey.

According to the Ukrainian president, Erdogan plans to discuss the possibility with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
“Ukraine supports trilateral meetings at the leaders’ level in Turkey. Why not?” Zelenskyy said in an interview with Ukraine’s United News telethon.
